The signing up of Australian former cricketer David Warner for the forthcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a new year gift for the fans.

The announcement was made on the league’s social media handles with a banner and a caption stating, “ENDING 2024 ON A HIGH. The Aussie powerhouse David Warner has registered for the PSL Draft.”

According to details, Warner, who had registered himself for the PSL for the first time, was having a claim to fame as the aggressive and blazing opening batter, who had not only represented at the international level but also went onto play for various franchises and teams across the world.

Warner participated in 15 IPL seasons, representing Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In 184 IPL matches, he has scored 6,565 runs, including 64 half-centuries and four centuries.

Under his captaincy, Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched the IPL 2016 title.

The PSL administration was eyeing targeting the great players from different teams.

So far, they went on to register household names including Warner, Tim Southee, Daryl Mitchell, and others.

Meanwhile, the players’ retention will take place on January 4, whereas the draughting for the marquee tournament will be held on January 11 in Gwadar, Balochistan.

David Warner is an Australian former international cricketer and captain of the Big Bash League team, Sydney Thunder.

A left-handed opening batsman, Warner was the first Australian cricketer in 132 years to be selected for the national team in any format without experience in first-class cricket.
