India defeates Australia to reach the ICC U19 World Cup final

COOLIDGE: Yash Dhull struck a superb century as India overcame Australia by 96 runs in the ICC U19 World Cup semi-final, ensuring their spot in the final.

India will now meet England in the U19 World Cup final after a comfortable victory over Australia.

In the second innings, Australia only managed to score 194, despite being set a target of 291. Lachlan Shaw batted a valiant half-century, scoring 51 off 66 balls, but his valiant effort was in vain as he, too, could not lead his team to victory.

Corey Miller, on the other hand, fought his way through the lineup, scoring 38 runs as the rest of the batters struggled to make an impact with the bat.

Vicky Ostwal grabbed three wickets for India, while Nishant Sindhu and Ravi Kumar each took two. On the other hand, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Kaushal Tambe each made one scalp.

India scored a respectable 290 runs in their first innings, due to Dhull’s incredible run-a-ball 110, which included 10 boundaries and a six. Shaik Rasheed, who scored 94 off 108 deliveries, including eight boundaries and a six, also played a crucial innings.

The rest of the Indian batters contributed very marginally to the side’s total of 290/5 in the allowed 50 overs.

William Salzmann and Jack Nisbet each took two wickets for Australia.
