One of the biggest sportswear manufacturers in the world, Adidas, has signed Haniya Minhas, a young tennis prodigy from Pakistan, as its brand ambassador.

The 12-year-old is Pakistan’s youngest and the nation’s first teen athlete to accomplish this historic feat. Pakistan’s youngest Tennis star Haniya Minhas becomes Adidas brand ambassador.

Only a few Pakistani athletes, including Haniya, Hasan Ali, a member of Pakistan’s national cricket team, had previously signed a shoe deal with the multinational corporation.

Azhar Ali and Wahab Riaz were also rumored to have been chosen by Adidas to represent the company’s brand in Pakistan, but there were no confirmed reports regarding the two cricketers.

Haniya will represent Adidas as a brand ambassador, according to a tweet from Abdul Razak Dawood, a former advisor to the Pakistani prime minister on business and investment.

Haniya has been sponsored by the Bilquis and Abdul Razak Dawood (BARD) Foundation since she was nine years old. Abdul Razak Dawood is the organization’s founder.

Karachi-born Haniya rose to fame as she recently won a number of titles in Little Mo Internationals in New York.

Haniya won a total of three titles in the tournament as she wrapped up the singles, doubles, and mixed-doubles titles in the tournament.

She then went on to create history as she became the first Pakistani star to win a bronze medal at the prestigious Orange Bowl Tennis Championships.
