Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjape, Sulakshana Naik named by BCCI to new Cricket Advisory Committee.
On Thursday, December 1, 2022, the Board of Control for Cricket in India will announce the creation of a new Cricket Advisory Committee. Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjape, and Sulakshana Naik, three former selectors, have been named to the panel, which is anticipated to make the crucial decision regarding the new selection panel for men’s cricket.
The BCCI pulled the plug on the earlier selection panel under the guidance of Chetan Sharma, who were responsible for the selection of the India squad that went to 2021 T20 World Cup, Asia Cup 2022 and the recently concluded T20 World Cup in Australia. India suffered shock 10-wicket defeats in both of their last two World Cup outings, one against Pakistan and one against England.
The Indian side were knocked out in the 2021 edition of the tournament from the Super-12 stages, failed to make it to the final of the continental competion and then were knocked out from the 2022 edition of the ICC tournament in the semi-final against England.
In a statement released on their official website, the BCCI announced the appointement of Malhotra, Paranjape and Naik in its new Cricket Advisor Committee.
