How much revenue does BCCI generate?
Data reveals that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) continues to generate more revenue than any of its competitors, demonstrating once more that it is the unchallenged powerhouse of world cricket.
According to Times Now’s research, BCCI generates 23% more money than Cricket Australia (CA), which takes second place in the category.
When comparing cricket boards, BCCI is by far the most profitable. According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India generates an astounding INR 3,730 crore in revenue (as of 2021), while Cricket Australia comes in second with an estimated INR 2,843 crore in revenue.
The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which generated revenue worth INR 2,135 crore during the relevant cycle, is in third place. Additionally, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), with an expected revenue creation of INR 811 Crore, is ranked fourth.
With INR 802 crore in revenue, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is ranked fifth, while Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) are in sixth and seventh place with INR 485 crore and INR 210 crore, respectively.
The final three spots on this list are occupied by the West Indies Cricket Board (INR 116 Crore), Zimbabwe Cricket Board (INR 113 Crore), and Sri Lanka Cricket (INR 100 Crore).
Notably, the BCCI has become the undisputed cricket governing body in the world thanks to the high-profile Indian Premier League’s (IPL) success over the years. In terms of revenue generation and a commercially viable product, the toughest T20 league in the world has far outpaced its rivals like the Big Bash League (BBL), The Hundred, etc.
