Shoaib Akhtar’s mother passed away. Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani fast bowler, has confirmed the death of his mother.

After her condition deteriorated, the former pacer’s mother was transported to the hospital, but she died.

“My mother, my everything, has left for heavenly abode, by the will of Allah taala,” Akhtar wrote on Twitter.

Shoaib Akhtar’s mother passed away. The funeral prayers would be placed at sector H-8 of Islamabad, according to the pacer.

Akhtar is regarded as one of the fastest and most dangerous bowlers in international cricket, having produced the fastest delivery in international cricket history against New Zealand in 2002 at 161 kph.

The former cricketer has played in 224 international matches for Pakistan, including 46 Tests, 163 One-Day Internationals, and 15 Twenty20 Internationals.

Shoaib Akhtar is a Pakistani former cricketer and commentator. Nicknamed the “Rawalpindi Express”, he was one of the fastest bowlers to have played the game. Akhtar made his Test match debut in November 1997 as an opening fast bowler and played his first One Day International three months later.

Akhtar was born into a Punjabi Muslim family in the small town of Morgah in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan.

His father, Mohammad Akhtar, whom Shoaib describes as very religious and “from a hardworking, economically unprivileged family of the Gujjar community”, worked as a night watchman at a petrol station belonging to the Attock oil refinery, and married his mother, Hameeda Awan, when she was still a teenager, and they had five children: four sons, Shoaib being the fourth, followed by a daughter, while his name, which in Arabic means both “the one who brings people together” and “the one who separates”, was chosen by his mother.
