The Asia Cup will be hosted by Pakistan in 2023, although India’s participation has been a major source of uncertainty up until the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Annual General Meeting (BCCI).

Yesterday, October 18, during the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting in Mumbai, the top executives made the decision not to travel to Pakistan for the continental tournament and to request that it be moved to a neutral location instead.

“Neutral venue for the Asia Cup is not uncommon, and we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan,” BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a statement to the media. I’ve made the decision that we’ll play at a neutral location.

The decision to send the Men in Blue to Pakistan is dependent to approval from the Indian government, a BCCI official said last week, but it is unquestionably on the board’s agenda at the moment.

The BJP-led government has already interfered with cricket-related matters in the nation, and a politician claimed last week that Ganguly was compelled to resign from the top BCCI position after refusing to join the party in power (BJP).

It’s important to point out that Pakistan hosted England for a T20I series, the West Indies for an ODI series, and Australia for a full-fledged series. New Zealand is also slated to tour the nation at the end of the year, while England will return for the Test and ODI series later this year.
