Rain threat looms over Pak-India World Cup clash in Melbourne

Rain is probably going to have an impact on the eagerly anticipated Twenty20 World Cup 2022 encounter between Pakistan and India.

The past several days have seen rain in and around Melbourne, and the weather outlook for October 23 in Melbourne is not promising either.

Rain is expected across the state both in the morning and the evening, according to Melbourne Weather Forecast.

On October 23, two teams will compete against one another at Melbourne’s renowned Melbourne Cricket Ground. On Sunday, October 23—the day Pakistan and India are slated to play a group game—a severe downpour is predicted in Melbourne, according to the weather forecast.

According to a rumor, all seats for the highly anticipated game have been claimed. Both teams will receive one point if the game is called off due to rain.

Melbourne is predicted to have rains in the wet spell beginning on Thursday, according to the weather forecast office. Australia’s three states are currently experiencing rain. The country also experiences cold weather.

Shaheen Afridi fit and ready, says Babar

Pakistan has welcomed back pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who recovered from a knee injury in a boost to their chances.

Skipper Babar Azam said Shaheen was fit and ready. “The way Shaheen has come back and he is fully fit and dedicated and we are looking forward to the tournament and play,” said Azam.

“Pakistan has always produced good fast bowlers. Shaheen’s return has only made our fast bowling a lot stronger,” he added.

Pakistan is fresh from winning a T20 tri-series in New Zealand.

“The boys are confident and we will try to take this momentum into the World Cup,” said Babar, adding that he was expecting a high-intensity match against India in their tournament opener.
