ECB offers to host test series between India and Pakistan
ECB offers to host test series between India and Pakistan. The national cricket teams of India and Pakistan have not faced each other in a friendly match for 15 years. This unwanted phase now has a chance to be overcome.
According to an exclusive report, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have offered the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) a round of tests between one of cricket’s biggest rivals India and Pakistan.
According to the report, the ECB has suggested that if the two countries India and Pakistan agree, they can play Test rounds against each other in England as a neutral venue.
India and Pakistan have not played a friendly match since 2007. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Deputy Chairman Martin Darlow is said to have discussed the proposal with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during the ongoing T20I series between England and Pakistan. England visited Pakistan for the first time in 17 years.
After the T20 World Cup, the England squad will also play a three-game Test series in Pakistan. The reporter also points out that Pakistan is not very keen on playing a Test series against India at a neutral venue as PCB started hosting international cricket on its soil after nearly a decade.

Additionally, the series between India and Pakistan would require a major political shift in sentiment between the governments of the two countries. After the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, India and Pakistan have only faced each other in the Asian Cup and major ICC tournaments. Pakistan toured India in 2012 for a short time with two T20Is and three ODI, but there were no test matches.
