When a star was born: Throwback to first international over of Shaheen Afridi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a throwback video from the tourists’ last match at the National Stadium, Karachi, as Pakistan prepares to face West Indies in the first of a three-match T20I series that begins today (Monday).

The video features Pakistan’s left-arm bowling sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi’s first international over, which received widespread acclaim for his outstanding performance in the April 2018 match.

Shaheen’s performance in his Pakistani debut earned him international recognition as a star player.

The 21-year-old bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who stands at an imposing six feet and six inches (1.98m), is the latest high-end product of Pakistan’s fast bowling factory — left-arm division.

Shaheen also shares the same name as one of Pakistan’s most illustrious white-ball pioneers, Shahid Afridi, and wears his number 10 shirt.
