The countdown to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup has started. It will be the first time the competition takes place in the Middle East and it will begin at the end of the year, on November 20, and go through December 18.
32 nations in all have qualified for the event through regional matches. A breakdown by region is shown in the list below.
