Former South African all-rounder David Wiese has been retained by Lahore Qalandars for the forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL), and the player is overjoyed.
The Qalandars, who finished second in the PSL 2020, have retained eight players for the seventh edition: Rashid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Wiese, Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Daniyal, Sohail Akhtar, and Zeeshan Ashraf.
“Really pleased and humbled to be part of the @lahoreqalandars family again for @thePSLt20,” Wiese wrote on Twitter.
Wiese joined the Qalandars in 2019 after leaving the Karachi Kings, and his power-hitting has helped him become an important component of the team.
The PSL draught for 2022 will take place on December 12 at the High-Performance Centre in Lahore, with the event starting at 3 p.m. Each team will bring a maximum of eight players from the previous event to the draught.
The seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League will get off on January 27 with 34 matches planned in Karachi and Lahore. The first match will take place under the lights of National Stadium, between the Karachi Kings and the Multan Sultans.
