Matthew Hayden to mentor Pakistan Team for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022
Australian legend Matthew Hayden has been named Pakistani team’s mentor for the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Friday.
The former cricketer inspired Pakistan in the semi-finals of the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, beating India, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia in championship matches.
Hayden joins the team in Brisbane on 15 October, the day Pakistan arrives from Christchurch after competing in the T20I series, which also involves host Bangladesh and New Zealand.
PCB president Ramiz Raja welcomed Mathew Hayden and stated that he is an established artist and his credentials are recognized and recognized around the world.
The PCB chief added that Hayden brings with him extensive knowledge of Australian conditions and is confident his involvement will significantly benefit the team’s extremely talented cricketers ahead of the World Cup and future Down tours under Matthew Hayden. “I am extremely excited to rejoin the Pakistani team as their mentor for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia and look forward to rejoining the culture and feeling the spirit of One Nation One Passion”.

“I saw Pakistan performing in the T20 Asia Cup and Sunday’s victory over India was brilliant”, he further added.
“I think this Pakistani team has what it takes to excel in Australia and the conditions will be really suitable for them, both from a batting and bowling point of view. This team has all the bases covered and I am sure they will light up the World Cup as it did in the UAE last year.” he spoke.
“I feel privileged to have the opportunity to pass on all my experience and knowledge of all conditions in Australia and I am looking forward to returning to the Pakistan locker room,” he said.
