Shadab Khan introduces Babar Azam as cricket’s ‘Cristianal Messi’ to Manchester United legend.
In a meeting with Edwin van der Sar, Shadab dubbed Babar the “Cristiano Messi of cricket” during a visit by the Pakistan cricket squad to AFC Ajax headquarters.
Mansoor, the manager of the Pakistan cricket team, gave a commemorative bat to AFC Ajax’s chief executive officer.
Former Manchester United and Ajax goalie and icon Edwin van der Sar was introduced to Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam by Shadab Khan, who called him the “Cristiano Messi” of cricket.
When Babar and his colleagues went to see Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, also known as AFC Ajax, Shadab came up with this jaw-dropping introduction.
A video of Shadab’s response to Edwin van der Sar, in which he points to Babar and declares, “He’s the Cristiano Messi of cricket,” has gone popular on social media.
Shadab was comparing Babar to football superstars Ronaldo and Messi when he made this comparison.
It is undeniable that Ronaldo and Messi are two of the sport’s all-time greats. Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, and Shadab Khan visited the Ajax football team, which has won the Dutch Eredivisie a record 36 times and four Champions League crowns.
The former Manchester United goalie had a batting lesson from Babar, who was dubbed a “combination of both Messi and Ronaldo” by his countrymen.
When van der Sar found out that Pakistan’s first-choice wicketkeeper, Mohammad Rizwan, wasn’t among the visiting players, he joked that he might take over keeping duties for the squad.
Mansoor, the manager of the Pakistani squad, gave AFC Ajax’s CEO a commemorative bat autographed by the team’s players.
Pictures from the team’s tour of the football club’s offices were also released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The captains of Pakistan and Ajax posed for photos together after trading autographed jerseys.
The Pakistan cricket team is currently in the Netherlands to play a three-game One Day International series. The team is up 2-0 in the best-of-three series heading into Sunday’s deciding game.
