Speaking Truth to Oppressed

Hasnain Thanks Shoaib Akhtar for Speaking Out on Stoinis’ Shamless Attitude

Pakistani bowler Mohammad Hasnain hailed Shoaib Akhter for his support after Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis seemed to accuse him of throwing during the current franchise tournament in England.

The teenage bowler said, “Thank you Shoaib Bhai for supporting me” in response to a tweet by Akhtar, in which the former criticised Stoinis’s gesture and questioned the ICC’s silence on the topic.

It’s worth remembering that Stoinis and Hasnain faced each other in the Hundred match between the Southern Brave and the Oval Invincibles, when the Pakistani bowler grabbed his wicket with a stunning ball.

While returning to the pavilion, the right-handed batsman complained that the delivery was unlawful and made a gesture similar to that of a bowler’s throwing arm, prompting an angry response from the world’s fastest bowler.

On his Twitter account, the former pacer posted the identical photo with the caption “Shameful gesture by Stoinis about the bowling motion of Hasnain at The Hundred 2022.”

You have no right to act in such a way. ICC naturally avoids discussing them. Akhtar came to the conclusion that no player should be permitted to perform such things if someone has been approved before.

It’s worth remembering that earlier this year, Indian batting legend Virender Sehwag said that Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar was tough to select because Sehwag would jerk his elbow whenever he was about to toss.
