TikTok announces 18000 scholarships for Pakistan’s students

In an effort to increase access to high-quality education, TikTok and edtech startup Edkasa has announced a scholarship programme that will award online study grants to 18,000 deserving students from across Pakistan. The initiative builds on the success of their #ExamReady campaign, which was launched last year. TikTok announces 18000 scholarships for Pakistan’s students.

For a first-of-its-kind year-long collaboration, TikTok teamed up with Edkasa and LUMS in September to develop a digital learning initiative that will support online education and distance learning for high school students.

Over 500 educational videos covering Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics are available online as part of the #ExamReady initiative, which aims to assist millions of Pakistani students. These videos also include study advice and exam-related hacks.

TikTok announces 18000 Scholarships for Pakistan’s students. On TikTok, the educational films quickly became a student favourite among Pakistani pupils, receiving over 665 million views and about 100 million video submissions.

By collaborating with LUMS, one of Pakistan’s top universities, the two will cement their relationship by giving students access to two months of free Edkasa study materials as well as an exam pack for the grade, board, or exam of their choice.

We are happy to play our part in the nationwide promotion of literacy to make a positive impact on the next generation in Pakistan.”

Fahad Tanveer, co-founder, and CEO at Edkasa, said, “We are pleased to see the massive interest and student offtake in the learning material on TikTok. Pakistan needs this kind of innovative and quality content that helps our young demographics compete with the rest of the world.”

The scholarships will be given out in accordance with the standards and regulations established jointly by Edkasa and LUMS, in harmony and cooperation with TikTok, the campaign’s online driver.

The scholarships are available to students all around Pakistan and are geared toward underprivileged communities. The objective is to help Pakistani students who struggle to access high-quality education.
