Octopus Energy company offers free electric blankets to reduce bills.
An energy company is offering its customers free electric blankets from Monday, October 10 to reduce their bills. Octopus Energy will select some of its 3.1 million customers to receive free coverage amid the cost of living crisis that has left many households uncertain about how to pay for heating.
The electric blankets offered are a cheaper alternative to turning on central heating, which is now more expensive. Octopus Energy customers are invited to fill out an online form to request the blanket starting tomorrow (Monday 10 October). The company has 10,000 blankets to give to those who need it most, the Mirror reports.
But those who aren’t eligible still have the option of claiming one of the vendor’s 50% discount codes to purchase a Dreamland electric blanket and mattress topper for half price. There are 5,000 of these codes available.

This is not the first time that Octopus Energy has proposed such an initiative. According to the company, the free covers could help reduce the average customer bill by 19%.
