Another Engineering Marvel Is Expected in Dubai
Dubai is home to all luxuries and now the city is expected to have a giant moon-shaped resort soon. According to Arabian Business, a Canadian architecture firm, Moon World Resorts (MWR), has proposed building the resort to offer guests affordable space tourism in the field.
The ultra-luxury hotel, which will be a replica of the lunar surface, is planned to be built in 48 months and will have a total height of 735 feet. The architecture firm believes that “Moon Dubai” will contribute to the emirate’s economy in sectors such as hospitality, entertainment, attractions, education, technology, the environment and space tourism.
“Moon Dubai will become the largest and most successful contemporary tourism project in the entire MENA region, doubling annual Dubai sightseeing based on its global appeal, brand awareness and unique multi-integrated offering.” Sandra G Matthews of Moon World Resorts. and Michael R Henderson, said, adding that it can “easily welcome 10 million visitors a year.”
Guests visiting the luxury resort can enjoy a spa and wellness area, a nightclub, an event center, a global meeting point, a lounge and an indoor “moon shuttle”. The hotel will also house a training platform for various space agencies and their respective astronauts.
According to the outlet, the Canadian architecture firm also plans to include “Sky Villas”, which will be known as the private residence on the moon. “About 300 units will be available for purchase, with sky villa owners joining an exclusive private club of members at the Moon,” Henderson said.
