PML-N persuades Zardari to normalize tensions with PPP.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) delegation requested President Asif Ali Zardari to normalise political tensions between the ruling party and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
According to details that surfaced on Thursday, both the parties have agreed not to issue public statements against one another.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq arrived in Nawabshah from Islamabad by special aircraft. Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi also had reached Nawabshah separately from Lahore.
Zardari welcomes the delegation
President Zardari welcomed the delegation at the Zardari House. Ishaq Dar, Ayaz Sadiq and Mohsin Naqvi took part in the meeting, which reviewed the national security and political situation and included discussion on regional and global matters.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar gave President Zardari an account of the recent session of the United Nations General Assembly. He also briefed him on meetings held with international leaders and issues of regional significance.
Sources said that Ishaq Dar and Ayaz Sadiq delivered a message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to President Zardari. In response, both parties agreed not to issue statements against each other.
The PML-N delegation departed following the meeting in a cordial atmosphere. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also left after his meeting with the President. He played a significant role in lowering political tension between the two parties.
