Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, announced the launch of “Operation Azm-e-Istehkam” in response to the escalating terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and other regions.
He said that this operation, discussed and approved by the Central Apex Committee of the National Action Plan under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, demonstrates a united national effort to combat extremism and terrorism.

All political parties, including those in opposition, are expected to contribute their perspectives during parliamentary discussions to ensure a unified approach.
Sanaullah reiterated the need for collective action and dialogue, highlighting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for talks aimed at resolving political issues.

He criticized PTI founder Imran Khan for his unyielding attitude, which he views as a significant obstacle to the negotiation process.
“The prime minister approved a reinvigorated and re-energised national counterterrorism campaign through the launching of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, with the consensus of all stakeholders including the provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, symbolising the national resolve to eradicate extremism and terrorism from the country,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement issued after the meeting.

Yusuf Raza Gilani, a senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), announced that his party has resolved its differences with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and is prepared to join the federal cabinet following internal consultations.
He highlighted the importance of bolstering the government to address economic challenges and noted the unified support from all parties, including PTI, for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative.
