Sher Afzal Marwat is ‘disappointed’ by the way PTI founder announced party decisions.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat has voiced his sadness and disappointment following his expulsion from the party’s top decision-making bodies.
Marwat, who received a show-cause notice, lamented the manner in which PTI founder Imran Khan announced the decisions affecting him.
Lawmaker’s Statement:
Speaking to journalists outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Marwat questioned the process behind the party’s decision.
“I am not upset with the PTI founder, however, why were these decisions made without hearing me out?” he asked, highlighting his dissatisfaction with the lack of communication.
Feeling of Disrespect:
Marwat expressed his feelings of disrespect over the treatment he received from the party.
“If [people] think it is better for me to stay sidelined, then so be it. I said I would resign if they want me to,” he stated, adding that he has not yet met with former Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss the issue.

Reasons Behind the Expulsion:
The PTI decided to remove Marwat from its core and political committees following his public criticism of the party’s leadership.
Marwat’s outspoken nature and refusal to work under certain leaders contributed to this decision.

Subsequently, he was issued a show-cause notice for violating the party’s code of conduct and policy.
The notice accused Marwat of making “irresponsible statements” that harmed the party’s reputation and interests, and of damaging relations with fellow party members and stakeholders.
Internal Conflicts:
Known for his blunt and often controversial remarks, Marwat has been at odds with several key party leaders, including Taimur Khan Jhagra, Omar Ayub, and Shibli Faraz.
Comments on Khan’s Legal Issues:
As Sher Afzal Marwat is ‘disappointed’ by PTI founder, Marwat also commented on the legal challenges facing Imran Khan.
He described the cases against Khan as baseless, stating, “Our opponents are succeeding. They make a new case as soon as one of the cases ends.”
Marwat further emphasized the importance of public support for Khan’s release, saying, “When the people take to the streets, the state and these institutions will release him.”
