Imran Khan turns down offer to leave country, says Arif Alvi.
Former President Dr. Arif Alvi revealed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has turned down an offer to leave the country, choosing instead to remain and confront his legal battles.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Alvi claimed that Khan, who is currently incarcerated, is under pressure to negotiate a deal that would see him exit Pakistan.
Despite this, Khan has steadfastly refused, committing to stay and face whatever consequences may arise.
“Imran Khan has been advised to strike a deal and leave the country, but he has rejected this offer unequivocally. He has decided not to leave at any cost,” Alvi stated.

The former president predicted that those conspiring to sentence Khan would ultimately face failure.
Addressing the issue of potential negotiations, Alvi specified that any dialogue would only involve legitimate stakeholders.
He added that Khan has expressed a willingness to forgive all parties involved once he is released from prison.
Dr. Alvi also defended Imran Khan’s controversial remarks about Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which were posted on Khan’s X account.
Speaking at a lawyers’ convention, Alvi argued that Khan’s recommendation to read the Hamoodur Rahman Commission (HRC) report should not be considered treasonous.
He criticized the trend of labeling individuals as traitors for merely referring to historical documents.
“Imran Khan’s suggestion to read the HRC report is not an act of treason. Hamoodur Rahman was an honest judge, and his work should be acknowledged,” Alvi stated, noting that Rahman’s son currently serves on the Federal Shariat Court.
Emphasizing the need for unity among stakeholders, Alvi called for collaborative efforts to address the nation’s challenges.
He warned that without such cooperation, Pakistan’s problems would persist.
Furthermore, he advocated for the immediate release of Imran Khan and the restoration of his mandate.
