Imran Khan has taken a rigid position, says Aitzaz Ahsan.
People’s Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan has voiced his concerns over the steadfast position of the PTI’s founder Imran Khan, suggesting that this inflexibility is impeding his chances of release from jail.
Speaking to the media outside the Lahore High Court, the seasoned lawyer and former senator highlighted the consequences of the PTI leader’s refusal to engage in dialogue.
Ahsan pointed out that the PTI leader’s rigid stance and his declaration that he will not talk to anyone have created significant obstacles to his own release.
“If he meets President Asif Ali Zardari, several doors will open for him,” Ahsan remarked, indicating that a meeting with the PPP co-chairman could pave the way for potential solutions.

Criticizing the government, Ahsan questioned, “Does the government have no other business to do except to discuss the PTI’s founder?”
He expressed frustration that the Prime Minister and Nawaz Sharif seemed to devote much of their rhetoric to discussing the PTI leader.
Despite being political rivals, Ahsan emphasized that the People’s Party conducts its opposition with decorum.
“The People’s Party is also the PTI’s opponent, but it is doing its politics politely,” he noted.
Ahsan defended the PTI leader’s call for the public reading of the Hamoodur Rahman Commission report, questioning the negative reaction to this demand.
“If the PTI’s founder has urged for reading the Hamood ur Rehman Commission report, what is bad in it,” Aitzaz questioned.
Additionally, he called for transparency in the judicial process, advocating for live broadcasts of Supreme Court proceedings, whether they pertain to the cipher case or other significant matters.
