Nawaz Sharif has been cleared from NAB in Toshakhana Case.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been cleared by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection with the Toshakhana reference.
This clearance comes after NAB submitted a report to the Accountability Court affirming that there was no evidence of Sharif using a fake account to purchase a vehicle from Toshakhana.
Vehicle Return Details:
The NAB investigation revealed that the vehicle in question was returned to the state depository in 1997 and was not under government ownership when Nawaz Sharif acquired it in 2008.
Other NAB References:
Earlier this year, NAB had approved three references against several prominent political figures, including Nawaz Sharif, Yousaf Raza Gillani, and Asif Ali Zardari, on various charges.
Additionally, a separate reference was filed against Anwar Majeed and Abdul Ghani Majeed for alleged tax evasion related to luxury vehicles imported via Toshakhana.
Background on Toshakhana Cases:
The Toshakhana cases came into focus after the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified PTI founder Imran Khan last year.
These cases involve allegations related to misuse of state resources and privileges.
