PPP and PML-N finally agree on power sharing. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made a late-night announcement on Tuesday, revealing that Shehbaz Sharif is set to become the next Prime Minister of Pakistan, with Asif Ali Zardari slated for the presidency.
This revelation follows days of intense negotiations between the PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to form a coalition government, prompted by the absence of a clear majority for any single party in the February 8 polls.
During a joint press conference held at Zardari House in Islamabad, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari asserted that the PPP and PML-N have collectively garnered sufficient support to establish governance at the federal level.

He underscored the failure of candidates endorsed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) to secure the requisite majority.
Echoing Bilawal’s sentiments, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif affirmed the coalition agreement, underscoring efforts made to afford PTI-backed candidates an opportunity to prove their mandate, which ultimately proved insufficient.
In his address to the media, Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the coalition government’s commitment to steering Pakistan towards progress, urging citizens to pray for the nation’s prosperity.
As PPP and PML-N finally agree on power sharing, the announcement of Shehbaz Sharif’s imminent premiership and Asif Ali Zardari’s presidency marks a significant political development, signaling a new chapter in Pakistan’s governance landscape.
