IHC orders removal of Shireen Mazari’s name from Passport Control List. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a compelling order on Friday, directing relevant authorities to expunge the name of former human rights minister, Shireen Mazari, from the Passport Control List (PCL).

This decisive verdict came in response to a petition filed by Mazari herself, contending that the inclusion of her name on the PCL was both unjust and illegal.

IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri delivered the ruling, categorically stating that the placement of the former minister’s name on the passport control list violated legal principles.

The court explicitly instructed the Director General of Immigration to promptly remove Shireen Mazari’s name from the list, further mandating the submission of a detailed report to the Deputy Registrar within a week.

The court had deliberated on the matter and reserved the verdict on November 21, emphasizing the significance of the case.

Shireen Mazari, represented by her lawyer Barrister Ahsan Jamal Pirzada, directed the petition against the Secretary Interior and DG FIA, seeking redress for her unjust inclusion in the list.
