Imran Khan’s ‘Naya Pakistan was topi drama’. Pervez Khattak, the leader of the breakaway faction Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians (PTI-P), has openly criticized the chairman of the original party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan.

Khattak asserted that Khan’s much-touted slogan of “Naya (new) Pakistan” was nothing more than a political ploy aimed at winning votes.

Addressing a party event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand district, Khattak accused Khan of making false promises, stating that he had initially supported Khan’s vision for transforming the country’s system but found all the slogans to be deceptive.

In his scathing critique, Khattak portrayed Imran Khan as a dictator who harbors hostility towards his political adversaries and harbors ambitions of introducing a presidential system in the nation.

He also took a swipe at Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), claiming that Rehman’s political agitation was solely driven by a quest for power.

Khattak lamented that the entire political leadership in Pakistan treats the nation as if it were an enemy, pointing out that no political party in the country has effectively implemented its election promises.

He emphasized that his newly-formed party aims to provide justice directly to the masses, highlighting the failures of mainstream political leaders over the past seven and a half decades.

As the political landscape in Pakistan intensifies in the run-up to the general elections scheduled for February 8, 2024, Khattak’s bold critique underscores the growing tensions and divisions within the country’s political sphere.
