Ishaq Dar comes under fire as NAB reopens the corruption case.
An accountability court in the federal capital summoned PML-N leader Ishaq Dar on Tuesday for an October 10 hearing after an assets beyond means case against him was reopened.
Senator Ishaq Dar has received notification from Accountability Judge Muhammad Bashir in this regard.
The news comes after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) revived scores of corruption charges against politicians in response to a Supreme Court of Pakistan order, including Ishaq Dar.
Earlier this month, a bench chaired by outgoing Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and comprised of Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah deemed admissible a plea submitted by PTI Chairman Imran Khan challenging the previous coalition government’s modifications to accountability legislation.

Bandial and Justice Ahsan ruled that Imran’s plea was admissible, while Justice Shah disagreed.
The court also declared other changes to accountability laws to be unconstitutional, citing the Pakistani Constitution.
After the Supreme Court deemed the changes null and unconstitutional, the NAB remanded the case to the accountability court, where hearings have begun.
