IHC grants 7 more days to IK in Contempt Case
The former Prime minister of Pakistan & chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaan, Imran Khan, appeared in front of Islamabad high Islamabad court today in the on-going contempt case.
To get the fact check right, the court had issued a show-cause notice to Khan his remarks on judge Zeba Chaudhry. Islamabad High Court had sent asked him to appear on Aug 31st, with the response to the inappropriate language used for honorable judge.
Meanwhile, Imran khan’ s counsel Hamid khan had registered a response in court saying that Khan has always obeyed Laws & constitution & he does not believe in suppressing the feelings of Judges. His marks were taken out of line & the court should look at them in context.
However, today on 31st, the former minister appeared as per ordered. The high court chief justice, Athar MinAllah seemed unhappy with the response submitted by Hamid Khan & was heard stating that he was not expecting such a response.
Chief Justice further added that “we were expecting khan to boost Court’s Confidence whereas from the response submitted, it seems like the former minister does not think he has said something out of line.”
Talking about the popularity that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman holds, “ a leader with such massive following should think twice before saying anything or at least be apologetic if something out of the line has been said”.
The 5 judges bench included Justice Athar MinAllah, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, Justice Miangul Akhan Aurangzeb, Justice Babbar Satttar & Justice Mehmood Jahangiri.
