Lulusar is a lake which is located in Naran Valley in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. It is famous for its mesmerizing and picturesque beauty. The word “sar” in Lulusar means “top or peak” in the Pashto language.
Lulusar is the name of the mountains that contain the lake. It is located at an altitude of 11,190 ft (3,350 meters). It is believed as to be the biggest lake in the Kaghan Valley and attracts thousands of visitors/tourists each year.
Do you know Lulusar is also considered a famous historic place? History shows that around 55 participants of the War of Independence 1857 were arrested here.
It is wreathed in the blue and cloudy sky and has a very enchanting beauty. Its wonderful and breathtaking view remains in my mind for a long time.
The lake is considered the main source of the River Kunhar which flows through the entire Kaghan Valley from Jalkhand towards Naran Valley, Kaghan, Jared, Paras, and Balakot until it joins the Jehlum River. It’s a vast calm lake in the center of the valley and made for a perfect backdrop.
Beside the lake, Lulusar Dudipatsar Natioanl Park is also located at this scenic location. Alpine Pastures are the habitat of many internationally threatened Wildlife species and are rich in biological diversity. This park comprises a wide variety of wild animals, birds, migratory birds, etc.
