Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has declared that ongoing attacks and targeted assassinations will not weaken the country’s armed forces, vowing continued resistance despite mounting pressure.
In a strongly worded statement, Khamenei condemned recent strikes by the United States and Israel, describing them as “crimes against humanity” and a violation of international law. He said that acts of violence and targeted killings would fail to undermine Iran’s military strength.
“Murder and crimes cannot weaken Iran’s armed forces,” Khamenei said, adding that the United States and Israel have repeatedly suffered setbacks in their confrontations with Iran, despite continued attacks and threats.
The Iranian leader accused Washington and Tel Aviv of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, including bridges, power plants, and schools, calling such strikes unlawful and morally indefensible. He also criticized international institutions for remaining silent, accusing some of indirectly enabling the conflict through inaction.
Response to ongoing threats
Khamenei said hostile powers continue to issue daily threats and warnings of destruction but stressed that Iran’s armed forces remain determined and prepared to resist. He stated that pressure and intimidation would not alter Iran’s stance or weaken national resolve.
The remarks were issued during a period of mourning for Majid Khademi, the head of intelligence for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Khamenei described Khademi as a courageous and steadfast officer who sacrificed his life in service of the nation.
He further emphasized that the targeted killing of Iranian military and political figures reflects the failures of Iran’s adversaries rather than any vulnerability within the country. According to Khamenei, such actions demonstrate frustration and strategic defeat by the United States and Israel.
Khamenei, who assumed leadership following the death of his father, has not appeared publicly since taking office last month. Reports indicate that Israeli strikes have killed several senior Iranian officials, escalating tensions across the region.
Iran vows continued resistance
Reaffirming Iran’s position, the Supreme Leader said the country’s armed forces remain united and resilient. He concluded by stating that Iran will continue its resistance against external aggression and will not be deterred by threats, sanctions, or military pressure.
