Iran’s hypersonic ballistic missile can penetrate other air defence systems, IRGC senior commander.
According to a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), the nation has created a hypersonic ballistic missile that can pierce advanced aerial defence shields and hit specific targets.
According to Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, head of the IRGC’s Aerospace Division, “the missile has a high velocity and can move both in and out of the Earth’s atmosphere.”
“The new missile can bypass all missile defence systems, and I don’t believe that countermeasure technology will be developed in the ensuing decades. Its creation represents a significant advancement in the creation of a new generation of missiles and may target the adversary’s anti-missile systems, according to Hajizadeh.
The long-range Sayad B4 missile production line was opened and the updated Bavar-373 (Belief-373) surface-to-air missile system was presented on Sunday by the Iranian Defense Ministry. According to Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, “Bavar-373 system was initially capable of destroying targets at 200 kilometres, and now the upgraded system, aiming to attack targets at very long ranges, [including] ballistic missiles, fighter aircraft, and bombers can destroy targets at 300 kilometres.”

He emphasised that many technologically advanced nations desire to own such a system and that it can engage and destroy up to six targets at once. According to the study, the detection range of the Bavar-373 system’s radar rose from 350 to 450 kilometres, and its engagement range increased from 260 to 400 kilometres.
The missile’s engagement altitude has grown from 27 to 32 kilometres, and its range has increased from 200 to 300 kilometres, according to the report. The Sayad B4 missile production line was also launched, according to the article, and the long-range, solid-propellant missile was operationally tested for the first time.
On August 22, 2019, the Bavar-373 system was publicly launched at an event that former Iranian President Hassan Rouhani attended. At the time, it was said that the road-mobile system could lock on to targets or aircraft at a distance of around 250 kilometres and kill them at 200 kilometres.
