In which of Ukraine’s city Russia is advancing?
Ukraine vs Russia’s battle over territory is advancing day by day. As Russia’s forces are battling as Ukraine has progressed and reclaimed land in the east and south over eight months after Russia invaded Ukraine.
Bakhmut, a city in the eastern Donbas region, is still a Russian target, but its troops are making progress. Across the day and night, incessant shelling can be heard throughout the city. It has continued for several weeks.
The majority of Bakhmut’s 70,000 residents have already departed. The majority of those that are left are old. Both electricity and running water are unavailable to them.
As volunteers continued to heroically operate a minibus into and out of the city, a brief line had developed for the most recent evacuation. One of the people waiting to go was Olena, who is about 70 years old.
She declared as yet another barrage shook the city, “People are exhausted.” She claimed that every person responds differently, with some turning to a cigarette or something to gnaw on while others simply sit and sob.
She claimed that having to fetch buckets of water and prepare food over an open fire had made life too difficult. “I curse the person who incited this conflict. I scream 100 times at him “She spoke.
Russia is frantically attempting to alter the history of this conflict in Bakhmut. One of the rare locations where it is not retreating is here. Russian soldiers have been making progress here, but at a slow and expensive pace.
There may have once been some sense in which Russia concentrated on taking Bakhmut.
Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, two nearby cities, had been captured in the early summer. Following Bakhmut, it was planned for the Russian forces to advance into Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
However, that was before to Ukraine’s unexpected counteroffensive in the east and south. Further north, Russian forces had been retreated. Russian artillery is no longer able to reach the cities of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, as it could in July.

For the most part, Russia has been obliged to transform from an offensive to a defensive army. Col. Serhiy Cherevatyi, a spokesman for Ukraine’s Eastern Command, continues to have his reservations about the Russians’ ability to capture Bakhmut, where he claims its military efforts are currently focused. Meanwhile, he claimed, Russia is making an effort to erect new defences farther to the north, surrounding the towns of Svatove and Kremenna, where vital supply routes are now also in danger from Ukraine.
