Residents of a village in Hasakah, Syria’s northeastern region, intercepted a US military convoy attempting to pass through their neighbourhood and forced it to turn back.
Residents in al-Matiniyah, southeast of Qamishli, intercepted a convoy of three armoured vehicles on Saturday evening, forcing it to turn around and return in the direction it came from, according to Syria’s official news agency SANA.
The peasants threw stones at the convoy, smashing one of the vehicles’ windows, according to the report.
A number of trucks belonging to US-backed Kurdish militants linked with the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces accompanied the convoy (SDF).
After coming under attack by Arab tribes in the eastern region of Dayr al-Zawr, US troops and their proxies lay siege to a town and imposed a curfew.
According to local sources, SDF fighters enforced a curfew in al-Busayrah after local tribesmen attacked their military headquarters, according to Russia’s Sputnik news agency.
SDF militants also attacked the nearby village of Abriha and made arrests, according to the report.
SDF snipers posted across the area, according to locals cited by Sputnik, target those leaving their homes.
After the main outpost of the SDF’s so-called first brigade was attacked, they alleged extensive overflights by US military jets, helicopters, and drones.
SDF militants were ambushed by unidentified gunmen in al-Hous town in the northern province of Raqqa, according to Sputnik.
According to local authorities, unidentified assailants fired a volley of rockets against an SDF outpost in the town, killing four militants and forcing the others to flee.
The US military has deployed personnel and equipment to eastern and northeastern Syria, ostensibly to prevent Daesh terrorists from gaining control of the region’s oilfields.
Damascus, on the other hand, claims that the illegal deployment is intended to loot the country’s resources.
On multiple times, former US President Donald Trump confirmed that American military were in Syria for the oil.
The US government has escalated its economic war on Syria after failing to overthrow the government with the help of its proxies and direct involvement in the conflict.
The illegal presence of American personnel in Syria, according to Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov, impedes the fight against terrorist groups and helps to their spread across the region.
Meanwhile, Turkish military and associated terrorists shelled Hasakah’s residential sections, causing damage to a number of homes and public buildings.
The bombardment took place near al-Dardara hamlet, north of Tal Tamr town, according to SANA.
Turkish-backed militants have been attacking Syrian infrastructure, residential areas, and agricultural land on a regular basis in recent months.
In defiance of Syria’s territorial integrity, Turkey has deployed military in the Arab country.
