Iran introduces Biometrics for Hijab Identification

Tehran: Iran is one of those Muslim countries which has always opted a rather strict rules for Hijab. The novel news coming from the country says that now even a 9-year-old would have to cover their head, neck & shoulders. This has also become a part of their legislation. The Hijab restriction is a must in the country who does not abide by it would have to go through legal processing.

The new rules in the country says that there will be technology which will recognize if the women are even wearing Hijab or not. The technology includes Iris Scans, Fingerprints & even facial recognition. This will be applied on all modes of transportation around the country.

The new regulation was imposed after the proper court hearing & the new regulations were imposed on August 15th 2022. The whole legal processing was after the court decided to put the Hijab case in process, so that women in public can “wear it the right way”.

Another incident that led the Iranian government led to these regulations was after the women’s day on July 12th which was called “National Hijab Chasity Day”. The Iranian women had come out to resist with their heads uncovered in public & especially on public transports.

The recent imposed law enforcement is expected to go into action soon but at the moment, the law enforcement officers are continually monitoring the clothing, whether a woman is wearing hijab or not or what kind of make-up has she put on. Also is she wearing appropriate clothing which is according to the gathering.

Fact check about Iran goes back to 2018 when the Amnesty International released aa statement that women in Iran are not allowed to step out without Hijab or proper covering even for a second. There is punishment which includes imprisonment, light whipping or a certain amount as fine. This is the punishment you will be given in Iran if seen without a hijab in public places or even daring to chant the typical slogan; “women can wear whatever they want.”
