The past cases of capital punishment being carried out in Gaza have also drawn criticism from human rights groups. The Interior Ministry statement did not provide full names for any of the executed men.

The Interior Ministry states that, three of the executed men had been convicted of murder while the two 44 and 54 were convicted as spies and had given Israel information that led to their execution.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, which oversees the country’s intelligence services, declined comment, “After the conclusion of all legal procedures, the execution was carried out, the rulings had been final with implementation mandatory” the statement added.
