KARACHI: Syeda Dania Shah, the third wife of MNA Aamir Liaquat, has been unfollowed by her husband on Instagram a day after she revealed she had filed for divorce from her husband.
Dania Shah filed for a khula (woman’s right to divorce) from her husband on Saturday, claiming that he was not who he appeared on TV and was “worse than the devil.”
Dania Shah is unfollowed on Instagram by Aamir Liaquat after she files for divorce.
Dania spoke about her relationship with her husband, saying that Aamir is not who he appears to be on television and that her four months of marriage with him was nothing but “torment.”
Aamir Liaquat responded to her allegations by posting a few voice notes on his Instagram account. He praised his first and second wives on Instagram, saying, “Although they were not divorced, the two were noble.” They “did not ruin his honor,” he said.
Liaquat stated that his first two wives first removed his name from their names before filing for divorce.
Liaquat remarked to Dania, “How brave you are to get a divorce at the age of 15, now I unfollow you.”
Dania Shah files for divorce in court
Syeda Dania Shah had filed for khula (woman’s right to divorce) from her husband the day before, claiming that he was not like he appeared on television and was “worse than the devil.”
Dania claimed that the PTI legislator used to confine her in a small room.
“After being intoxicated, he would beat me,” Dania said, adding that “Aamir is threatening me and my family with severe consequences.”
Aside from the divorce, Dania has filed several other cases in a family court. In her petition, she asks the court to order her husband to pay the haq mehr of over Rs115 million, as well as the house and jewelry.
The hearing for the case is scheduled for June 7.
