On Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s national football team was inaugurated by Indian megastar Amitabh Bachchan. According to India TV, the veteran actor was invited as the principal guest to kick off the intense match between Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Cristiano Rolando’s Riyadh XI at the King Fahd International stadium. Big B meets Messi, Ronaldo and others in Riyadh.
Bollywood’s “Big B” celebrated the event by posting footage and pictures from the friendly match to his Instagram. He can be seen interacting and shaking hands with renowned football players like Messi, Ronaldo, and Mbappe in these pictures.
Terming it an “incredible” experience, Bachchan wrote in the caption, “An evening in Riyadh and what an evening! Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Mbape, Neymar, all playing together… And yours truly, invited as a guest speaker to inaugurate the game. PSG vs Riyadh Seasons, Incredible!”
Reacting to the post, many of his fraternity members expressed their excitement at the moment captured. Dino Morrea said, “Wow, just wow! Amazing, love it! What a beautiful experience. They got to meet you.” Virat Kohli commented, “Amazing.” Neil Nitin Mukesh said, “What an iconic moment.”
Bachchan also posted some images of his children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda, travelling with him to the gulf country on his blog. On her social media, Shweta posted some images from the game in which Big B meets Messi, Ronaldo and others in Riyadh.
Ronaldo’s first game since securing a contract with the Saudi football team Al Nassr was a friendly game. After the World Cup, he left Manchester United the previous year. Messi and Ronaldo both scored during the game as Paris Saint-Germain defeated the Saudi All-Star XI 5-4. The two football juggernauts faced off against one another for the 37th time in their history on Thursday, their first meeting since 2020. It might have been the final confrontation between the bitter enemies.
Along with Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra, and Boman Irani, Bachchan recently appeared in the family comedy Uunchai. The audience responded well to the picture, which Sooraj Barjatya directed.
The megastar will next be seen with Deepika Padukone in The Intern and in the Pan-Indian movie Project K, which also stars Padukone and Prabhas.
