Government seeks FIA action against culprits for character assassination of female stars
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was encouraged by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday to take legal action against those responsible for the character assassination of female stars.
The minister, in a news statement, strongly condemned the campaign against the actors. “The entire society must condemn those who are promoting the culture of such malicious campaigns aimed at character assassination and spreading insolence and incivility,” she commented.
According to Marriyum, the artists are not only the nation’s assets but also its international identity because they have overcome numerous obstacles to achieve success and have gained a social position through their own personal labour.
She regretted that whenever a woman attained a prominent stature in media, politics, the arts, or any other sector, it became the norm to begin character assassinating her. Due to their gender solely, the women were made the targets of these smear efforts.

She grieved that some forces were attempting to undermine women’s efforts, struggles, and accomplishments rather than recognizing their strengths. These smear tactics would not discourage the women from achieving success since they had already established themselves as models of bravery and tenacity.
She claimed that “the mentally retarded people” only worried about the honour of their own mothers and sisters and did not consider the honour of others. The way some people treated others poorly for holding a different opinion, launched disgusting attacks against women, and engaged in disrespecting and harassing other people’s mothers and sisters revealed how they had been raised, she said.
