Another tragedy hits Queen Elizabeth as her closest friend passed away

Another sorrow has struck Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, as one of her closest friends and lady-in-waiting Diana Maxwell, Lady Farnham, has died at the age of 90.

On December 29, 2021, Lady Farnham passed away at her home.

She began working for the Queen in 1987 and has remained a close confidante ever since.

After the Duchess of Grafton, Ann Fortune FitzRoy, died in early December, Lady Farnham became the Queen’s second close friend to pass away in a month.

After ten years of service, she was honoured by the Queen in 1998. Her Majesty the Queen has appointed Lady Farnham Commander, Royal Victorian Order in honour of her efforts (CVO).

“It is really upsetting for the Queen,” a royal source said.

“It has not been a good year for the Queen, with the loss of her husband, the Duchess of Grafton, and now Lady Farnham,” the source continued.
