The complicated plot isn’t really compelling, despite the excellent performances from all the performers.
If this had simply been a movie about a retired old woman pushing terrible men aside to save a kidnapped girl, that would have been more entertaining.
However, the domestic component makes it a rather boring thriller.
2) The Watcher
The unnerving actual story that served as the inspiration for The Watcher was published in the 2018 issue of New York Magazine.
The series uses certain real-world elements while greatly fictionalizing the original.
As you watch the show, you’ll be left wondering whether it really is based on a true story.
In contrast to traditional mystery-thrillers, The Watcher doesn’t even come to any definitive conclusions.
A few intriguing concepts are present, but none are given any attention.
Many of the talking points are overused and don’t truly fit the circumstances the characters are facing. It’s annoying!
3) Luckiest Girl Alive
Similar to Gone Girl, Luckiest Girl Alive makes use of flashbacks to imply a dark turn.
