Sonya Hussyn takes legal action against producer of “Tich Button”
Urwa Hocane, the producer of film “Tich Button”, is being sued by Pakistani actress Sonya Hussayn for unpaid work on the upcoming movie Tich Button.
Sonya has asked for Rs. 5 million in legal notice as payment for her part in the movie. The actress alleges that she received only Rs. 500 000 after working on Tich Button for two years.
Urwa was reminded in the legal letter by the Azaadi star’s legal team that she “got into contractual relations” with their client. She agreed to pay Sonya a certain sum upon completion of the shooting, which started on February 2, 2020, and lasted on June 5, the same year, “under specified terms and circumstances.”
According to the notification, Sonya was not paid her due “despite repeated requests and reminders,” which constituted a “breach of contract,” even though she fulfilled her obligations under the agreement “under extraordinary circumstances” like the Covid-19 outbreak.
The notification states that Hussyn returned the cheque and “unequivocally refuses to be a victim of [Urwa’s] fraudulent scheme.” Sonya is requesting the contract’s stipulated payment, which is “still outstanding”.
In the event that Urwa does not abide by this, Sonya has given her legal team the instructions to “institute civil and criminal legal provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 for criminal breach of trust, cheating, fraud, and misrepresentation” and file a civil lawsuit in court to recover the money owed, general damages, and the attachment of Urwa’s immovable and moveable assets.
The recent trailer release was one of the film’s promotional events in which Sonya would not be taking part.
Urwa’s debut project will be the upcoming Pakistani film Tich Button. In addition to many other actors, the film features Sonya Hussayn, Feroz Khan, Farhan Saeed, Iman Ali, Marina Khan, Mahoom Ahmed Bilal, and more.

The movie directed by Qasim Ali Mureed is being produced by Muhammad Jarjees Seja and Urwa Hocane under the supervision of Salman Iqbal Films and Shooting Star Studios. The movie is scheduled for theatre release on October 28, 2022.
