Indian billionaire Gautam Adani has been ranked fourth on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people after Microsoft founder Bill Gates declared his intention to donate the majority of his wealth and leave the list.
Gate is now the fifth richest person in the world, according to Live Mint, despite his significant donation. On Forbes’ Real-Time Ranking of the World’s Billionaires, his current estimated net worth is $102 billion, compared to Adani’s $114 billion.
Gates announced it via a Twitter thread in which he expressed his desire to give more to the world in order to lessen people’s suffering.
“I will move down and eventually off of the list of the world’s richest people,” he said last week.
Right now, Elon Musk is the richest person in the world with a $230 billion net worth. The Tesla CEO is followed by Bernard Arnault in second and Jeff Bezos in the third position.
