FM Bilawal to attend WEF’s Annual Meeting at Davos today

Foreign Minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, which begins today (Monday) in Davos, Switzerland, at the invitation of WEF President Klaus Schwab.

The theme of this year’s Forum is “History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies.”

Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, will accompany the FM on the tour.

During their visit, both the foreign minister and the minister of state will attend a number of events.

Foreign Minister Bilal will discuss the economic and social impact of evolving geopolitical developments, as well as the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, food and energy security, and climate change, with the audience.

In addition to interacting with the media, the foreign minister will meet with counterparts from other countries during the event.

Every year, the World Economic Forum brings together political and business leaders from around the world, as well as representatives from international organisations, civil society, and youth, to discuss economic, social, and environmental challenges.

Senator Sherry Rehman, Minister for Climate Change, will also attend a number of World Economic Forum events on climate change and its effects on the global community and Pakistan.

The phenomenon of climate change is an important agenda item, especially given the country’s current heatwave situation.

The forum will be attended by nearly 2,500 people from various professions, including politics, business, and the media.
