Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid told the media in Islamabad on Wednesday that economists are being interviewed for the interim prime minister position.
He stated that the single-vote government would not last long and added that the coalition government was begging institutions for a one-year guarantee.
“Institutions are not ignorant; they are fully aware of the situation,” Sheikh Rashid said, adding that the difficulties of the coalition government would grow with each passing day.
“They will dig their own graves if they delay the elections,” he said, adding that their coalition would disintegrate in the square.
He asserted that economists were being interviewed for the position of caretaker prime minister and that a decision would be made by May 31 of next year.
The former interior minister’s interim bail was extended until June 6 of the following year.
