ATTOCK: PTI Chairman Imran Khan said on Thursday that he had informed relevant parties that if the “conspiracy” succeeds, the country’s economy would suffer, but that nothing could be done about it.
Speaking at a rally in Attock, the former prime minister said he spoke with “those who could have stopped the conspiracy” and sent then-finance minister Shaukat Tareen to speak with them, but it was a futile exercise.
When asked about his anti-government campaign, the former prime minister stated that it has evolved into a Jihad (holy war), adding that he will never accept “thieves and slaves” ruling the country.
“I am willing to go to jail and even die for this cause,” he said, adding that the “three stooges” (Asif Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman) had plotted a coup against his government in collaboration with the US.
“Handlers toppled a sitting government in Pakistan while sitting in the United States,” he said. “As a result, we will continue our campaign against this conspiracy until new elections are called.”
Imran Khan said of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, “One of the brothers abuses the country’s army, while the other resorts to bootlicking.”
He went on to say that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari proposing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reforms is “a sign of the Judgment Day.”
Imran Khan recalled that Pakistani soldiers had suffered more than American soldiers, pointing out that 80,000 Pakistanis died in the War on Terror.
He went on to say that the US ordered then-President Pervez Musharraf to join the war, threatening him with dire consequences if he refused. “Unfortunately, our leader has knelt.”
‘Freedom War’
Speaking to a tense crowd in Attock, the former prime minister stated that it is the responsibility of the youth to join him in the anti-government campaign because “now was the time to fight for true freedom.”
He claimed that the PPP and PML-N impoverished indebted, and destroyed the country’s institutions during their previous tenures. “However, despite all the obstacles, the PTI government was able to build the country.”
“Those who could have stopped the conspiracy should know that the PTI government worked hard to stabilize the economy,” he added.
Referring to the recent PML-N leadership meeting in London, the PTI chairman stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif makes decisions for the country after consulting convicted Nawaz Sharif, while his daughter Maryam Nawaz, who is also accused, enjoys governmental protocols. “Whoever goes behind their cases and questions the thieves puts their lives in danger,” he insisted.
PTI movement will continue until the elections
Khan stated once more that the PTI movement will continue until the new government declares general elections. “This is not my fight; it is our [Pakistanis’] fight because we have decided not to become slaves of any other country,” he said, adding that he is willing to give his life or go to jail but will “never become a slave to the United States.”
The PTI chairman has been holding jalsas in various cities, including Karachi, Mianwali, Lahore, and Peshawar, to rally his party’s workers and leaders against the incumbent government.
