Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Thursday during a speech on the floor of the National Assembly that he received a Martial Law threat from a PTI minister the night before the no-confidence vote.
While commenting on the country’s political situation, Bilawal stated that former Prime Minister Imran Khan violated the Constitution by fleeing. “The Constitution has torn apart like a piece of paper,” Bilawal lamented, calling for the formation of a commission to investigate constitutional violations.
“Imran Khan believes he is a holy cow,” Bilawal said, adding that a commission should be formed to identify those involved in unconstitutional and undemocratic acts.
He also claimed that during the previous four years, every institution in the country was made controversial and that the previous government attacked the Constitution and democracy.
He demanded an investigation into those responsible for Constitutional violations, claiming that Imran Khan ruined the economy and isolated the country globally.
He also stated that there had been widespread corruption during Imran’s four-year tenure, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts by the judiciary and other institutions to correct the situation.
Bilawal also claimed that he was threatened with martial law the night before the no-confidence vote and that the threat was delivered by a PTI minister.
He also claimed that Imran Khan wanted to create conditions that would benefit the third force, adding, “We do not believe in political engineering.” Elections will be held following reforms.”
Meanwhile, the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution presented in the House by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari opposing the Indian government’s Delimitation Commission on Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Bilawal, on August 5, 2019, India illegally changed the status of Kashmir and began resettling non-Kashmiris in the valley.
The foreign minister strongly condemned India’s actions in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IIOJK), rejecting India’s self-appointed commission to change the status of the occupied valley.
“Indian atrocities against Muslims in occupied Kashmir continue.” “The BJP government has repeatedly violated international law,” Bilawal said, adding that the IIOJK was his first priority after taking office.
“The Indian Charge d’Affaires was summoned and handed over a protest note,” Bilawal said, adding that India’s illegal actions would be brought up in international forums such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He also stated that Indian forces were working to change the population proportions in the IIOJK.
Bilawal emphasized that the former ruler was deposed democratically due to incompetence and ineligibility.
“Everyone is aware of the PML-N and PPP’s political history. Political differences between the MQM and the PPP are also a part of history. Nationalist parties have their own point of view as well. Could anyone have imagined us all working together in a coalition government?” Bilawal brought this up.
“Why have we been carrying this burden on our shoulders?” “This situation arises when the country and the nation are facing a crisis,” he said.
“If there is an emergency or a warlike situation, political differences are set aside,” he said. Pakistan has faced numerous challenges throughout its history. There is a crisis everywhere these days. The situation is even worse than it was during the opposition period because the former rulers wreaked even more havoc than expected.”
“Instead of opposing our democratic initiative, Imran Khan has attacked democracy,” Bilawal added. From April 3 to 9, Pakistan’s President, National Assembly Speaker, and Deputy Speaker Imran Khan attacked the Constitution. “How can this House remain deafeningly silent on this issue?”
