ECP takes notice of Imran Khan’s anti-CEC speeches

PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s anti-ECP speeches have been taken notice of by Pakistan’s Election Commission (ECP).

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has also been asked to provide the recording of Imran Khan’s speech at the PTI workers’ convention in Peshawar (Pemra).

A few years ago, former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan accused the chief election commissioner of being biased against the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and referred to him as one of their agents (PML-N).

A “planted agent” of the PML-N, Imran Khan blasted the CEC during his speech. “Raja should resign immediately because he has lost all credibility,” he had said. It had also been suggested by the PTI chairman that a petition against the chief election commissioner be started by his supporters.

The former prime minister had predicted that PTI would emerge as the only party with legal funding when the results of the foreign funding case were announced.
