PM praises FBR over 35% growth in November revenues

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the Federal Board of Tax (FBR) on attaining a 35 percent increase in revenue collection in November 2021 on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

He tweeted, “Congratulations to the FBR team for achieving a 35% rise in revenues in November over last year and a 37% increase in the first five months over the previous year.”
In comparison to last year, when the FBR collected Rs2314 billion in FY2022, revenue collection increased by 36.5 percent in five months, according to the FBR.

“The revenue collection target for the first five months was Rs2016 billion,” it said, adding that the tax authority had collected Rs1,695 billion in the same period last fiscal year.

The FBR collected Rs470 billion in November 2021, compared to a target of Rs408 billion, representing an Rs62 billion increase.

The revenue agency collected Rs348 billion in November last fiscal year, indicating a 35.2 percent rise this year.
