At least 150 girls have reportedly died after United States and Israeli air strikes hit a girls’ elementary school in Minab, southern Iran.
Footage from the scene shows crowds of people searching through rubble in a desperate attempt to find survivors. Walls bear scorch marks, and most windows of the school building are shattered.
Iran’s Amir-Saeid Iravani condemned the attacks during an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council, accusing the United States and Israel of deliberately targeting civilians and public infrastructure.
“Hundreds of civilians have been killed and injured as a result of the aggression and atrocious crimes of the United States regime and the Israeli regime… The aggressors have also targeted a school in Minab, killing more than 100 children. This is not only an act of aggression, it is a war crime and a crime against humanity,” Iravani said.

Iranian Abbas Araghchi added on social media:
“Dozens of innocent children have been murdered. The destroyed building is a primary school for girls in southern Iran. It was bombed in broad daylight while packed with pupils. These crimes against the Iranian people will not go unanswered.”
The US Central Command stated that reports of civilian deaths are under review and emphasized that protecting civilians is a top priority. They added that further measures would be taken to reduce collateral damage in ongoing operations.
